🌸 Annual Events Calendar For Me
Gentle gatherings, beautiful gardens, and elegant experiences
Where I Can Belong
Not every room holds air I can breathe.
Not every light rests kindly on my eyes.
Crowds can press too close,
scents too sharp,
voices too jagged.
Yet sometimes—
a courtyard opens,
a polo field stretches wide,
laughter carried lightly on the breeze.
I can step back,
find a quiet corner,
and still be part of the dance.
My gathering places are not many,
but they are true:
under sky,
by water,
in gardens where the air moves free.
There, I am not shut out—
I am gently welcomed.
There, I belong among others
without losing myself.

The parties that embrace me tend to share certain gifts: outdoor fire pits where I can step away without leaving, homes with rooms I can drift between, small gatherings of four to eight where I’m not pressed close to strangers. Daytime and early evening events are kinder than late-night affairs when fatigue makes every scent sharper. Most precious are the hosts who already know—who’ve chosen unscented candles or left a window open before I arrive.
