Heart vs Mind

Enhance Body Mind and Emotional Self-Awareness

Simply by directing your attention to awareness expands your awareness.  It’s an ongoing process that assist us in letting go of our own illusions.

Body Awareness

By focusing on the bodies signals more awareness is immediately available. Increasing “sensitivity” to the bodies signals assists in filtering out distractions around us. The body warns us via our intuition, our instinct and our fear of survival or our fear in the moment. Our fears can be our own inadequacy in the moment. We may be triggered about our fears regarding our future or our past. Fear of responsibility, failure, death or self judgement. Fear is experienced in the body operating in the now.

Mental Awareness

Investigate the minds thinking for anxieties, notice if the mind is calm or feeling anxiety. Researchers believe that an area of the brain known as the anterior cingulate, a region of the frontal lobe, plays an important role in the development of self-awareness. The fear experienced with mental anxiety can lead to sense of confusion in the “know” accompanied by a pressure for answers. There can be anxiety about sharing your thoughts and ideas for fear of rejection or opinions. Fear is experienced in the mind on a loop.

Notice the tendency to ruminate on events and feelings which increases mental anxiety and often leads to depression. Give your mind something else to focus on by simply observing rather than reacting to the pressure and fear.

Emotional Awareness

Observe the nervousness of the emotions. Often fear is experienced in nervousness of the emotions moods, desires and sensitivity. Like a wave moving through the body. Nervousness can be present during intimate situations. Increasing stress and anxiety from feeling rejected, revealed or not heard. An intense feeling of need or passion. The fear of emptiness, of not feeling any passion.

We have the ability to choose what deserves our attention. In observing we are released from our fears being experienced as anxiety and nervousness. As we develop our capability to control our responses to our environment, rather than just reacting to whatever is in front of us in the moment, life changes.

Filtering out distractions around us and shifting our focus in a way that we are not distracted by our own thoughts, instincts and emotions, allows us to regulate how we experience our life providing more clarity. Releasing fear experienced as anxiety and nervousness frees up more joy. Be alert and have another look.
