While dating the first kiss is held as a romantic moment. Before the first kiss and before intimacy there are some issues to discuss. If there isn’t a comfort level to discuss these things beforehand then it’s most likely too early to proceed. Here is one way to begin the conversation.

According to new research, kissing can lead to various conditions. Some of these conditions are quite serious. A 10-second kiss can carry up to 80 million gems. The exchanging of saliva usually causes these diseases.

The Fine Art Of The Smooch!

When it comes to kissing, choose carefully, because it turns out you can catch more than just feelings! Whilst kissing provides us with many health benefits, it can also transmit germs like bacteria and viruses which can lead to disease. Without trying to ruin the mood, here is a guide to all the germs which can potentially be transmitted by kissing! Before the first kiss, have a little talk.

Conditions Spread From Kissing

1. Herpes Virus Family Of Infections

3. Respiratory Viruses | Strep Throat | Influenza

4. Tooth Decay & Gum Disease | Periodontitis

Flora of bacteria, viruses, and mucus that live in the mouth! Forming plaque, which can cause cavities or gum disease (gingivitis) when it builds up under your gum line.

6. Syphilis | Transmitted | Kissing | Sex

7. Sexually Transmitted Disease | HIV | Chlamydia | Gonorrhoea

8. Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

11. Let’s Talk About Sugar

Most types of sugar wreak havoc on our body’s systems, especially our microbiome. Our microbiome is the living collection of all the bacteria that reside in and on our body, and it is so important to our overall health that scientists have dubbed it another organ.

The beneficial bacteria, the probiotics in our gut where most of our microbes live, are responsible for a variety of health-promoting functions, like regulating our immune system, balancing our blood sugar, helping us absorb nutrients, and even calming our emotions.

One of the biggest microbiome disrupters is a diet full of sugary, processed foods. The probiotics in our gut feed on prebiotics, which are plant-based fibers from whole foods like apples, onions, garlic. Can you guess what the bad guy bacteria like to eat? You guessed it—sugar! When we eat a high-sugar diet, the undesirable bacteria thrive and start to grow out of control, while our beneficial bacteria dwindle in number.

Keeping your sugar intake to a minimum and avoiding other common microbiome depleters, are the steps right now to help keep your microbiome intact for the true sweetness of a kiss.

11. The Drugged Kiss

Pharmaceutical drugs and recreational drugs are passed on via the saliva and bodily fluids as well.

Relationship Agenda

Check in to see if you are on the same page. Are you both looking for a monogamous partner or will you be in a relationship with unknown partners? Some people are just looking for a sexual exchange. What is the agenda of each one of you?

Keep The Conversation Open |Ongoing

Sex is an opening conversation, there’s much more to talk about. This is mostly about the first kiss. In today’s world a conversation that needs to take place. This is a start. Next is the conversation about sex!

Preventing The Transmission of Kissing-Conditions!

Avoid kissing someone when either one of you is sick, run down or not feeling well.

Avoid kissing someone when they have a cold sore, wart or ulcer in or around their mouth.

Brush and floss your teeth well! Get semi-annual or annual cleanings to remove plaque build up.

Cannabis Dosing~Less Is More

When it comes to dosing with cannabis, starting with a low dose is the best way to begin. Over using or over dosing cannabis simply increases your tolerance and raises your cost of use. So when starting out with any strain that is known or unknown, start slow and low. Less is more!

Dispensary Pre-rolled Joint

The average THC concentration in today’s strains is around 12%, which is about 3-4 times as potent as strains a couple decades ago. Using these numbers, this means that your typical pre-roll will have approximately 100mg of THC. Some strains have a THC concentration upwards of 25%.

The average dispensary pre-roll joint contains about 750mg – 1g of cannabis. Full effects of the herb can often be felt immediately or within 15 minutes. After that, the experience starts to mellow out and will wind down over the course of the next 1-3 hours. Best to not use a whole joint in one sitting.

Vaping

Vaping is a cleaner way of oral dosing cannabis.

Each hit off the vape pin has 2.5 mg. Today a dose is 2.5 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg. Effects appear within 90 seconds, reach a maximum after 15-30 minutes, and taper off within 2-3 hours. Begin with 1-2 doses every 2-3 hours. Best to limit intake to 3 doses per hour.

Tinctures

Tinctures are used per drop or dropper full by either holding them under the tongue (sublingual) or by swallowing them and delivering them via the GI-track.

A 1/4 of tincture equals 2.5 mg a full dropper would be 10 mg. It can take 15 to 30 minutes to notice the effect. Holding it under the tongue will impact how soon the effect is felt. Swallowing it in tea and using the GI-track effect could last up to 6 hours.

Sublingual

A sublingual is delivered in a mist under the tongue per spray.

1-2 sprays of sublingual are equal to 5 mg. It can take 3 to 10 minutes to notice the effect and can last 1-2 hours.

Edibles

Edibles are the same dosing, 2.5 mg is used for micro dosing through out the day going up to 10 mg. Most edibles are marked for this kind of delivery. Edibles are one of the most effective sleeping aids as it stay’s in the system for six to eight hours providing a sound sleep. Using an indica rich strain is most effective as a sleeping aid. If getting to sleep is the issue, using a sublingual tincture of indica under the tongue will send you off to sleep.

Edibles are most often marked for dosing at 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg. It can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to notice the effect and can last six to eight hours.

Start Slow And Go Low

A slow approach would be to micro dose every three hours. Perhaps 9 am noon, 3 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm.

Beginning with the smallest amount. 1-2 hits of the joint or vape pen every three hours.

Your watching for your minimum effective dose. Your MED.

A Sample Dosing Plan For Slow And Low

9 am – 1/4 dropper CBD Tincture

noon – 1/4 dropper CBD Tincture

3 pm – Vape Pen Sativa 1-2 hits

6 pm – Vape Pen Hybrid 1-2 hits

9 pm – Indica Sublingual 1-2 sprays

Bedtime – 2.5mg to 5mg infused chocolate under the tongue.

Awakening Heart Wisdom

What is smarter than your brain? Science is pointing to the heart. The mystical wisdom of the heart is finding solid ground in our scientific understanding.

The Heart’s Powerful Electromagnetic Field

The heart forms in the fetus first before the brain.

The source of the heartbeat is in the heart, not the brain.

During a heart transplant, the heart cannot reconnected to the brain. The heart beats on its own.

The electromagnetic field of the heart can be measured three to four feet from the body. This electrical impulse of the heart is forty to sixty times stronger than the brain and many times stronger than any other electrical impulse in the body.

The hearts vascular system is sixty thousand miles long, long enough to wrap around the earth twice.

The Heart Of Emotions

Heart wisdom allows us to awaken to the actual experience of our existence, without getting caught in it. When we listen to the wisdom of the heart, we dissolve separation, and move into the compassionate state of loving awareness. In that awareness we are true to our deepest wisdom.

The “heart brain” is in continuous dialogue. The heart sends signals to the brain that can influence our perception, our emotional processing and our higher cognitive functioning.

As we experience different emotions our heart’s field changes, affecting our cells. Energetic interactions involving the heart may underlie intuition and important aspects of human consciousness according to growing evidence gathered by HeartMath science.

By fostering positive emotions, individuals can effectively initiate a re-patterning process, whereby habitual emotional patterns underlying stress are replaced with new, healthier patterns that establish increased emotional stability, mental acuity, and physiological efficiency as a new familiar baseline or norm.

Alchemy Of Heart Wisdom

The alchemy of heart wisdom transforms emotional turmoil into peace through emotional integration. Emotional upsets that occur throughout our everyday experiences are not within the actions of others, or the outer circumstances that trigger them. We are energetically shaped by our initial interactions. Through entering the alchemy of heart wisdom in self-reflection we can begin to process feelings that were first triggered by hot or cold emotions.

“We can awaken to the awareness that the only loving approach available to us for achieving perceptual course-correction, one which simultaneously empowers absolute personal responsibility,
whenever emotionally triggered, we are empowered to ‘re-parent ourselves’, and so also to systematically integrate our childhood imprinting.” Michael Brown

Emotional skills develop over time. By awakened awareness positive emotions replace negative emotions and life changes in fundamental ways. Working with such deep wisdom shifts the cells in the body to be in resonance with new happier interactions.

Hearing Heart Wisdom

By listening to the wisdom of our heart we can trust in our own knowing and follow the wisdom that leads to peace. It requires a slowing down. Taking time to reflect and finding clarity. Waiting for the right time and place to voice words that embody wisdom rather than a knee jerk reaction. Time is our friend, taking it all a little slower…checking out what we heard with what was said. Feeling it in our body and shifting it before we interact.

For today speak from your heart, from the deepest wisdom in your body rather than the loop of the mind. Drop down and find the simplest of truths within yourself.

Share Your Experiences

Have you experienced a time when you were clearly relating from your heart? A time when you could have reacted to your hot emotions but instead you sat with it and waited for your heart’s wisdom to shine through? Share you experience below, it may help another on the heart path.

Tools To Expand Happiness In Your Life

Following is a short list of take-aways from the course of study with The Science Of Happiness offered by BerkeleyX. Positive psychology is fifteen years young and this is what the findings are revealing.

Genetics accounts for our set point of happiness. Our external circumstances accounts for ten percent of our happiness and forty percent can be effected by our activities and thoughts. Focusing our minds on gratitude, empathy and compassion enriches our lives. Being involved in activities of kindness, meditation and awe, inspire us in ways that bring us joy and happiness.

Shame, Humility And Reparation

Money And Happiness

Up until the early 2000s, most young people strongly believe that earning a lot of money, material consumption, actually leads to happiness and there was a dramatic shift in our culture. Think about how people rearrange their lives in fundamental ways in the pursuit of materialism and money. So they’ll do longer commutes for that better job when we know scientifically long commutes deteriorate not only your happiness but your health and your cardiovascular profile.

More money doesn’t guarantee more happiness. Some of the wealthiest people in the United States, in the world, actually were less happy, 37% of them than the average American. The wealth in the United States as a culture really doubled up to 1995 from 1957, but the happiness levels didn’t change. A wealthier society didn’t guarantee more happiness. Once you’re above a certain level, in some studies $75,000, money doesn’t seem to matter as much as we think. Dacher Keltner

Social Connection

The vagus nerve activity is strongly related to feelings of connection and care toward others. We are biologically endowed with tools for connecting with others, and these tools of connection are intimately tied to our general health and well-being. This research challenges a narrative we’re often told about humans–namely, that we’re primarily a fight-or-flight-driven, self-interested species.

Scientists have long known that oxytocin plays an important role in childbirth and in mother-child bonding (such as during breastfeeding), but recent research suggests that its role in promoting connection is even more extensive than that. For example, oxytocin is also instrumental in fathers forming bonds with newborns, and in the stress-relieving effects of a supportive friend’s comforting touch.

It’s been called the cuddle hormone, the holiday hormone, the moral molecule, and more—but new research suggests that oxytocin needs some new nicknames. Like maybe the conformity hormone, or perhaps the America’s number-One! molecule.

Loving Kindness Meditation

Sending Loving-Kindness to All Living Beings: Expand your awareness and picture the whole globe in front of you as a little ball. Send warm wishes to all living beings on the globe, who, like you, want to be happy:

Just as I wish to, may you live with ease, happiness, and good health.

Just as I wish to, may you live with ease, happiness, and good health.

Just as I wish to, may you live with ease, happiness, and good health.

Take a deep breath in. And breathe out. And another deep breath in and let it go.

Notice the state of your mind and how you feel after this meditation.

To Touch Is To Give Life

Recently, scientists have started to document how fundamental touch is to our social lives; touch signals safety and trust, boosts health, and reduces stress. Results highlight another system that has developed precisely for connecting with others–and highlights the role that simple touches can play in our happiness and health.

Social anxiety is a specific form of anxiety. It is an emotion characterised by a discomfort or a fear when a person is in a social interaction that involves a concern of being judged or evaluated by others. Typically characterised by an intense fear of what others are thinking about them (specifically fear of embarrassment or humiliation, criticism, or rejection), which results in the individual feeling insecure and not good enough for other people, and/or the assumption that peers will automatically reject them.

Developmental social anxiety occurs early in childhood as a normal part of the development of social functioning and is a stage that most children grow out of, but it may persist or resurface and grow into chronic social anxiety during their teenage years or possibly in adulthood. People vary in how often they experience social anxiety, and in which kinds of situations they experience it.

Chronic social anxiety that causes considerable distress and impaired ability to function in at least some parts of daily life is an anxiety disorder called social anxiety disorder (SAD). It is the most common anxiety disorder and one of the most common psychiatric disorders. Wikipedia

Social anxiety is an avoidance of interacting with work, social and family activities. This fear avoidance creates intense anxiety and distress. Small groups, authority figures, being observed, being the center of attention, are all a part of the daily activities to be avoided.

Social anxiety is a pattern of thinking that involves; predicting the future, mind reading, over generalizing, taking things personal and focusing on the negatives. The bodily symptoms can include; sweating, flushing, heart palpitations and elevated blood pressure.

Social Anxiety Companions~Alcohol, Sugar, Nicotine

Many people with social anxiety will use alcohol for liquid courage in social situations. Alcohol affects the brain’s serotonin levels that regulate mood. Alcohol is full of sugar which leads to feelings of nervousness, confusion, restlessness and sometimes dizziness.

While the main strategy is avoidance of social situation, people who suffer from social anxiety, develop social and emotional skill deficits as a results of the avoidance of interacting. While their peers are learning these skills by interacting. As time goes on, the anxiety and distress of avoiding interactions is loneliness and often depression.

Smokers often use the habit to try to relieve tension and anxiety. However, research has shown that smoking cigarettes may be linked to an increased risk of anxiety disorders. The effect of cigarette smoking on your anxiety may be related to the indirect effects of the habit of breathing, as well as the direct effects of nicotine on your body. Not only will quitting smoking be better for your social anxiety, it will also be better for your overall health.

Effective Therapy For Social Anxiety

Research indicates that the most effective therapy for social anxiety disorder is called cognitive-behavioral therapy. New rational ways to deal with and eradicate the anxiety can be learned. By learning to work with the “behavior” rather than being controlled of the anxieties. Anti depression medication can also be of assistance.

Rewarding Sound Sleep Routine

So many situations in life can disturb our sleep routine. A new baby in the house, shift work, caring for someone that is ill. All of these life situations will disrupt our sleep patterns. Scientific research points to sleep disruptions as an increased risk for a variety of chronic illnesses such as heart disease and gastrointestinal diseases.

Nurturing A Sound Sleep Routine

Keep the same bedtime and wake time schedule every day of the week.

Eliminate noise and light from your sleeping environment. An orderly room may help as well.

Avoid caffeinated beverages, alcohol and sugar-four to six hours before sleep time.

Routine Sleep Time And Wake Time

Early to bed, early to rise. Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. Ben Franklin

There’s a reason why keeping in sync with nature’s rhythms makes your body happy and healthy. Even the most basic understanding of how our body cleans itself. There are biological energies that influence our bodies and minds, each having its own particular qualities and traits.

Ayurveda recommends going to sleep by or around 10:00 p.m. This is one of the most ideal times for the body to fall asleep. After 10 pm we get a second wind – if you’re up at 11:00 p.m. or Midnight and feel ready and motivated to do anything but sleep; it is caused by the time of bed you are selecting. It’s best to go to bed by 10:00 p.m.—10:30 or 11:00 p.m. at the latest. This makes it much easier to fall asleep than a later bedtime.

Because it’s recommended to wake up early, we also need that early bedtime to ensure we get enough sleep. Ayurveda advises arising during brahmamuhurta—the two hours before sunrise. This is the best time for yoga and meditation—which are important practices in Ayurveda for maintaining health of the body and mind. Go to bed by 10:00 p.m., wake up by 6:00 a.m.

Sleep In Complete Darkness

A dark environment ensures your pineal gland produces enough melatonin to ensure good, restful sleep. Make sure you avoid backlit devices like phones, tablets, computer monitors, or TV right before bed. The lighting of these devices stimulates serotonin production, tricking your pineal gland into thinking it’s daytime, confusing your wake/sleep cycle.

Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol And Sugar

Caffeine will stay in the blood stream for four to six hours.

Alcohol and a good night’s sleep don’t mix well, although many people will add it to their routine thinking it puts them to sleep. “Alcohol may seem to be helping you to sleep, as it helps induce sleep, but overall it is more disruptive to sleep, particularly in the second half of the night,” says researcher Irshaad Ebrahim. He is the medical director at The London Sleep Centre in the U.K. “Alcohol also suppresses breathing and can precipitate sleep apnea,” or pauses in breathing that happen throughout the night.

Sugar peaks about thirty minutes after eaten and affects the blood for about two hours or more. People often use sugar to go to sleep but it does the same thing as alcohol, it disrupts the second half of the night.

Sleep is the most rejuvenative and restorative time for your body. Rest well!

Tools To Find Your Dream Job

Are you considering investing years getting an education for a future career? If so, this is a pivotal time in your life. Gleaming all the information you can about your decision will set you apart from the pack. Doing a full assessment gets you one step closer in minutes rather than years. The information can provide you with self information that will have a lasting impact on your life.

Worthwhile Assessment Texting

Taking an assessment test is the first step for clarity. Taking hours to analysis the results and put it to use will save you hours, days, months and years of time. On first glance you will see some things but on a more in-depth study of your results you can put the information to work for you.
SDS Self-Directed Search $9.95

Strong Profile – College Edition $9.95

Statistics Regarding Career Options

When it comes to a placing yourself in an environment to flourish, many aspects need to be considered. These statistics and information described in detail the things to consider and sort through. There is a difference in the natural strengths that you bring to any environment and putting yourself in an environment where you will never be recognized for your natural abilities. This website describes what the career entails and what you need to get started.

Is there a point in getting a four-year degree to end up working for $20.00 an hour. Do your research, what are the real possibilities of your career choice income. Before you begin your course of study check out the job prospects in the future and what it may be like to work in the environment you have selected. There is detailed information about these details with the SDS Self-Directed Search.

Education About Your Education

Will you need a four-year degree or an advanced degree. What true value will you gain from an advanced degree, in your field of study? What are the top schools in the field I want to be prepared for? Would you have a leg up on getting the position of your dreams if you attended the leading university for your field of choice?

Top Universities

Relocating For Work

As an example: Chemistry. California is the largest employer chemist. If staying in your home state near family is important, notice the realistic possibilities of your career choice in your local area. Check it out before you begin your education. Save yourself time and money. Avoid going back and doing your education again.

My Personal Story Using Assessments

I took the Strong/Campbell Interest and Skill Survey in the early 80’s. It showed photography as an interest. I was called shortly after and asked to work for a company doing photography. Without this skill survey I would have never said yes. I was personally trained to do the photography for a video dating company in Mill Valley. This was the moment my professional career started in photography.

Near the millennium I was in a career crisis and took several assessments. This time diving deeper into the information. I was looking for what they all had in common. For me that included; religious activities, counseling, writing, public speaking, teaching and photography. As well as the culinary arts which has been a consistent thread in my life both as a restaurateur and a home chef. I developed a wedding and coaching business around these skills and enjoy a lifestyle that feels well suited for my interest, passions and skills. I’m an INFJ.

The information is only as good as the research that goes into understanding it and yourself. Dive deep…you deserve it. Build a life that fits you! Take one or take them all. Either way spend time with the information and find success.

Need Help Making Sense Of It All?

You don’t need to struggle with the results if you need help to see the clarity of what is in front of you. Give me a call and make an appointment. We will search for your clarity together. 415-409-9264

5 Core Emotions In Disney’s Inside Out Film

[responsivevoice_button voice=”UK English Female” buttontext=”Listen to Post”]

They’re All In Your Head

Disney’s new film focuses on our five core emotions; Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger. In this new magical film emotions come to life. You can learn them from the “Inside Out”.

Riley, the young girl in the film-has five core emotions that live in her conscious mind where they influence her actions and memories.

Her five core emotions are held at headquarter in her control console.

Her new memories are housed in colored orbs, which are sent into storage at the end of every waking period.

Her core memories power five “islands”, each of which reflects a different aspect of her personality.

As things in her life take an unexpected turn, Sadness begins touching happy memories and turning them sad, so she tries to isolate Sadness. In Joy’s absence, Anger, Disgust and Fear attempt to maintain her emotional state, rending her depressed and apathetic. Joy uses tools from Imagination Land to propel herself through the Sadness by turning Sadness into Joy.

Through this process, all of her emotions work together to help her lead a content, more emotionally complex life as she grows older. The full length film is on Youtube.

5 Core Emotions By Paul Ekman

Paul Ekman is an American psychologist who pioneered the study of emotions and their relations to facial expression. He has created an “atlas of emotions” with more than ten thousand facial expressions. He was involved in this film and it’s expression. His site offers training in emotions and is well worth a look.

The next post will be about facial expression and emotions. Until than here is a chart of emotions and a great do it yourself tool by Paul Ekman to become emotionally mindful.

Channel of Recognition~Emotional Energy

[responsivevoice_button voice=”UK English Female” buttontext=”Listen to Post”]

The Channel of Recognition

Allows you to recognize an emotion within yourself, that you can share. This energy is about discerning a potential experience, and feeling within yourself how much you are drawn to each experience. How much attention you are going to commit to it, or not?

Within this channel is a strong pressure, recognized by an intense feeling. Wisdom is gained through exploring all kinds of feelings. Weighing up your feelings to a point of emotional clarity. Once clear, leaping into the experience. Whatever happens within the experience, you come out of it with a sense of completion, that opens you to all forms of new experiences with added confidence.

This is emotional pressure to ‘Experience’ something, often something emotionally. Often felt in the body as a restlessness or nervousness. Sometimes an endless yearning to feel in order to learn.

It takes patience and composure to develop the art of waiting for clarity about which experience to enter into. Time is required to move through the emotional way from hope to pain in order to finally see which desires are correct to experience. The stress of this energy can feel like one is never free from desire.

It can also be experienced as confusion of feelings, as it’s connected to the emotional wave of chemistry. This is the energy of emotional aches and yearnings. Sometimes not knowing what is even being yearned for. There is an underlying yearning to experience all kinds of new things, the results which may or may not be the gaining of wisdom.

As long as you can enter in from a clear emotional space whatever you are learn will be correct for you. Even if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

Spiritually this is the ‘Hand Of God’ in it’s deepest potential. True peace is simply to enjoy the dreams themselves rather than to expect desires to bring any lasting peace. The highest use of this energy is to find the type of prayer that speaks to your heart and enter into the meditation daily. The intensity of the drive requires waiting for clarity and prayer can take you to that clarity.

People with this energy can be powerful dreamers, bringing to the world stories of new experiences and adventures. Or they can be living in constant state of chaos leaping into the wrong adventure and hurting themselves and others. Because this is an emotional channel, time is required before clarity and before taking action.

True creativity is a thoughtful, deliberate process not a wild shot in the dark.

It’s important that when you have this energy to be sure to communicate clearly. Always make sure the other person really understand what you just said and isn’t spinning fantasies around with they think they heard. It is a projected channel, wait for the invitation rather than initiating this energy. The highest expression of this energy is extremely creative, passionate and innovative.
