Tuning Our Emotions Through Our Glands
Emotional States In The Body
Emotions always have roots in the unconscious and manifest in the body. Our thoughts create emotional patterns and resultant physiological outcomes. Emotions possess the power to lock and store memory in the cellular structures of the human form.
Its our fears, our cares, our anxieties, that open the path to illness in the body. By treating our fears, our cares, our worries, etc. we free ourselves from illness in the body. The key to sustainable health is through personal intervention at an awareness level. Health and well-being is about being in touch with oneself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually through personal intervention. Developing a wakefulness.
The endocrine system is the most susceptible to daily stresses, such as thoughts, emotions, environmental factors, nutrition and pollutants. An imbalance can manifest symptoms of depression, mood swings, weight or sleep issues, lethargy, low self-esteem, fuzzy brain, loss of libido, headaches, allergies, fatigue, and general aches and pains.
Endocrine system tunes individual glands, our emotions are the tuning fork.
Hypothalamus: The Seat Of Emotions
The hypothalamus forms the limbic system which influences digestion. The digestive system is the flow of nutrition via the mouth, esophagus, liver, stomach, large intestine and small intestine, all of the digestive juices. Insatiable thirst can signal an interruption to the function of the hypothalamus.
Anxiety churns the stomach. To balance maintain acid/alkaline balance within the body. Take regular breaks from computers, televisions and artificial lighting. Avoid bright light at night, like watching TV in bed or working on the tablet. Reduce exposure to electromagnetic fields, such as electric blankets. Drink plenty of water, eat slowly, sleep in complete darkness so your body produces more melatonin.
Pineal: The Seat Of The Human Soul/Regulator Of Thought
The pineal lies beneath the hypothalamus in a tiny cave at the center of the brain. The pineal gland controls sleep-wake rhythms, and moderates the states of euphoria and depression.
Self reproach annihilates the spirit. To balance practice relaxation. Mediate to raise melatonin levels within the body. Daily doses of natural light. Foods high in potassium; brown rice, avocado, broccoli. Sleep incomplete darkness. Avoid melatonin-lowering substances such as caffeine, tobacco, alcohol.
Pituitary: The Master Gland
The pituitary seeks to balance the endocrine orchestra, any troubles here and in the pineal area, affect the function of the entire body. The production and secretion of pituitary hormones can be influenced by emotions and seasonal changes. Imbalanced function can lead to impairments in dyslexia, stuttering and inability to think clearly as well as lack of interest and forgetfulness.
Stress switches this gland off. To balance use color therapy, candle gazing meditation, humming bee breathing.
Thyroid: Regulates The Body’s Metabolism
The biggest gland in the neck is situated in the neck like two wings of a butterfly wrapping around the trachea. The hormones released by the thyroid influence nerve stability and proper nerve activity in addition to heart function, respiration and blood pressure.
Jealousy and envy sears through the veins hardening the heart. To balance intake foods high in iodine such as kelp. Balance PH levels.
Parathyroids: Regulates Calcium Level In The Blood
Four tiny glands located behind the thyroid ensure optimum function of the nervous and muscular systems. Controlling levels of calcium in the bones as well as bone strength and density. Regulation of phosphorus in the body, and giving the spleen advance warning of any foreign substance absorbed by the mouth.
Bitterness and judgement freezes the joints creating arthritis and immobility. To balance insure proper levels of Vitamin D.
Thymus: Life Force, Soul & Feeling Or Sensibility
Located underneath the top of the breast bone, the thymus controls the energy flow to the body. Day after day, moment by moment, it monitors and rebalance our life energy. Everything affects the thymus – food, posture, emotional attitudes, stress, physical environment, and social environment.
Regret and sorrow strip the cells of the spleen and pancreas, depleting the sweetness of life. To balance immune function hold a positive view and balance emotional states. Methods include playing with pets or children, laughing, having fun, doing what you love, skilled relaxation, positive affirmations, visualizations or imagery, nurturing yourself, getting adequate rest and exercise, achieving goals and enjoying life. Avoid foods rich in sugar, white flour products, artificial and processed foods, saturated fats, caffeine, nicotine, excessive red meat intake and full fat dairy products. Live in clean environments with good fresh air. Exercise regularly.
Pancreas: Islets of Langerhans
Islands of cells. Responsible for transferring amino acids and fatty acids, together with glucose from the bloodstream, into the cell structure. It keeps sugar levels from getting too high by converting sugar in the blood to glycogen. Glycogen is the body’s main substance for sugar and is stored in the liver as glucose for later use by adrenals.
Hate poisons the cells and manifests as skin conditions and cancers. To balance manage weight level, monitor sugar and alcohol intake. Eat foods loaded with vitamin C, carotenoids, folate and fibers such as dark leafy greens and orange-yellow vegetables such as squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Avoid prepared and processed foods. Include foods that contain magnesium and potassium.
Adrenals: The Seat Of Flight or Fight Responses/Combat
The adrenals regulate four primary stress hormones; DHEA, adrenaline, cortisol and norepinephrine. Known as the glands of combat because they respond swiftly to rage, anger, and fear, the adrenal glands are the survival center of the human body. Situated on top of both kidneys they are the storehouse of one’s emotional karma in the body.
Fear paralyses and crystallizes fluids into gallstones and kidney stones. To balance maintain acid/alkaline balance within the body. Relaxation, daily meditation, yoga, flush kidneys with plenty of water, and laugh to lower serum cortisol and adrenaline.
Gonads – Creation Of Sex Hormones
Sex hormones, sexual characteristics and sexual activity. Woman’s reproductive system.
Grief engulfs our lungs and suffocates our breathing. To balance increase natural hormones found in herbs and plants. Yoga.
Health is a dynamic place of being, directed by the emotions in the body.
